Driving Directions

 

The Golden Eagle Trail Complex is accessible from the Jackson Road Station on the Long Leaf Trace in Hattiesburg.

 

The Longleaf Trace is "South Mississippi's premier running, biking, hiking, and equestrian trail." The Trace extends 41 miles from downtown Hattiesburg to Prentiss, MS.

Directions to the Golden Eagle Trail Complex From USM's Campus:

From Golden Eagle Drive, head west on Fourth Street for 4.3 miles. Turn right on Jackson Road. Park at Jackson Road Station. Bike west on Longleaf Trace for 0.84 miles. Entrance is along utility right of way on south side of the Trace.

 

From I-59:

Head west and turn north onto Westover Drive. After 0.9 miles, turn left on Fourth Street. Go 2.8 miles and turn right on Jackson Road. Entrance is 0.88 miles on the right. Park at Jackson Road Station. Bike west on Longleaf Trace for 0.5 miles. 

 

Directions to Lake Thoreau From the USM campus: 

From Golden Eagle Drive, head west on Fourth Street for 5.6 miles. Turn right on Thoreau Road. Entrance is 0.88 miles on the right.

 

From I-59: 

Head west and turn north onto Westover Drive. After 0.9 miles, turn left on Fourth Street. Go 3.4 miles and turn right on Thoreau Road. Entrance is  0.88 miles on the right.
